Hidem Gimp
Hidem Gimp or Hydem Gimp, also referred to as hidem welt or hidem trim, provides a finished look that conceals staples and fasteners on the edges of many projects. Because it’s constructed from high-quality, marine-grade vinyl or PVC, you can use it to finish any headliner or on the underside of boat cushions. The primary reason for installing hidem gimp is to provide your projects with a professional, clean edge and to hide the staples that keep your fabric together.
It will endure any demanding marine environment where moisture, salt and sun exposure are expected. To install hidem gimp, fold the fabric strip back from the middle and place it over the unfinished edge. You can then staple or tack it beneath the folds to hold the trim in place without exposing your fasteners.
