Anchor Fabric Defined
An Anchor Fabric is a fabric which contains three or more colors. It is most often used in interior design as the basis for all of the other elements of a room. A designer first picks an anchor fabric. He then decides where to use it (generally two or three places like drapes, pillows, edges of furniture). Then the designer starts with one of the colors in the anchor fabric.
In the fabric to the left of the text, the colors are brown, gold, green, and blue. You could have the anchor fabric on the pillows and drapes. Add gold-colored furniture such as a sofa. Use green wall coverings on the walls. Use blue items such as predominantly blue paintings and accessories. After awhile, it becomes easy!
